Know when to get care
Getting to a doctor or hospital when you need care can also be a big part of looking out for your health and safety.
If you or a family member experience any of the following, call 9-1-1 or go to the emergency room right away:
- Uncontrolled bleeding
- Loss of consciousness
- Injury to the head or spine
- Inability to breathe normally
- Severe allergic reaction
- Severe chest pain
- Coughing up or vomiting blood
- Pain or pressure in the upper abdomen
If it’s not an emergency, going the ER can cost you time and money. Instead, try calling your own doctor or if it’s after hours, going to an Urgent Care.
